For 2025, Katrina is focusing on pick-you-own bouquet events, flower focused workshops for kids and their adults, or adults only, and bulk D-I-Y buckets for events. Katrina will also do the flowers for a few, select weddings each year. We are also starting a bouquet club, and will have bouquets at the roadside stand, at East Street Cider and Eat Local Huron in Goderich, and at Lakewood Garden Centre in St. Joe's.

History:

Katrina started growing flowers at Meeting Place Organic Farm in 2017, with her friend and Garden Manager, Ellie. They took bouquets to markets and had fun learning about growing the different flowers along side the vegetables.

Fast forward a few years, and in 2022, Katrina decided to jump into flowers a bit more. With 2 small children, it made sense to have an aspect of the farm that was fairly safe and easy to bring them along with her for. Fran McQuail, Katrina's mom, is an avid gardener and had run a CSA and market vegetable garden for over 20 years, and has grown organic plant seedlings for sale for over 30 years. Fran has been a great resource for starting flowers and cultivating them.

In 2023, Katrina joined forces with Gwen from Donnybrook Flower Farm, and offered a flower subscription program from June through September, as well as taking bouquets to the Goderich Market, and eventually they put up a farm stand at her in-laws on HWY 86 / Amberley Road. They also sold bouquets through Lakewood Garden Centre in St. Joe's.

In 2024, Katrina was focused on making sure she had enough flowers for their wedding celebration on the farm, still did the monthly flower subscription program, and started hosting cut your own bouquet nights on the farm. Bulk buckets for DIY weddings or events have also become part of our offerings. And we continued to sporadically have bouquets at the farm stand and the Lakewood Garden Centre. Katrina started drying flowers for use throughout the winter.
